Le quartier général du service des renseignements attaqué par des hommes, 18 morts

Au moins 18 personnes gardant le quartier général du service des renseignements du Yémen, ont été tués, lorsqu’’un groupe d’hommes armés a attaqué samedi le bâtiment situé dans la ville portuaire d’Aden, dans le sud du Yémen, a révélé un responsable de sécurité locale non identifié.

"18 gardes et officiers du service de renseignement ont été confirmés tués et plusieurs autres grièvement blessés", a indiqué un responsable.

"Les hommes armés, portant l’uniforme de sécurité et armés de mitrailleuses et des grenades, ont rapidement conduit deux voitures vers la principale porte du quartier général du service de renseignement et ont tué trois soldats gardant la porte sur place", a indiqué le responsable à l’agence Xinhua.

Il a ajouté que les hommes armés avaient échangé des coups de feu avec des gardes au quartier général dans le quartier de Tawahi de la ville pendant une demi heure et avaient essayé d’entrer et de libérer certains détenus.

Aucun groupe n’a revendiqué la responsabilité de cette attaque, mais une source bien informée a indiqué que l’attaque avait été lancée par al-Qaïda pour libérer leurs membres emprisonnés.

Le gouvernement n’a pas fait de commentaire sur cet incident jusqu’ici.

Le Yémen, pays natal ancestral du dirigeant du réseau al-Qaïda Osama bin Laden, a intensifié ses opérations de sécurité et ses raids aériens contre les groupes terroristes, après que l’aile d’al-Qaïda basé au Yémen ait revendiqué la responsabilité de l’attentat manqué contre un avion de ligne américain à destination de Detroit en 2009, le jour de NoËL.

*Yemeni intelligence security arrested Abdulelah Haider Shayea, a Yemeni analyst and expert on al-Qaeda affairs last Sunday evening for suspicious links with al-Qaeda, said Shayea upon his release.

Shayea told Yemen Observer that four gunmen snatched him from Haddah street and took him for a ten-minute ride to an unknown place blindfolded with his hands tied.

“You have been making statements that harm the nation,” said one of interrogator, according to Shayea who said his recent comments about al-Qaeda attacks on the Political Security in Aden last month was likely one of the reason why he was interrogated. While under detention, Shayea said no harm was done except for one blow he received to his face while he was performing the evening prayer.

“He is accused of having close relations with the al-Qaeda attackers who targeted the buildings of the intelligence service in Aden that left nearly 20 intelligence officers dead,” a top intelligence officer told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The kidnappers seized Shayea’s laptop and told him to come and retrieve it from the Political Security headquarter in Sana’a, the Capital.

On July the 19th, Shayea was a guest -speaker in Behind the News-Ma Wara’a al-Khabar- Program which was broadcasted on al-Jazeera Channel in which Shayea said that al-Qaeda attacks on the Political Security had multiple paths: One of which is gaining legitimacy, and that theYemeni authority had targeted, in coordination with America, the civilians while al-Qaeda aimed at only military and security targets.

Shayea, a Yemeni journalist and a freelancer contributor for a number of international media outlets, is known for his exclusives interviews with senior al-Qaeda members. The last of which was with the leader of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) Naser al-Wohaishi, and the U.S.-wanted Yemeni-American fugitive, Anwar al-Awlaqi.
